The teenage years can bring many changes – emotional, physical, social and hormonal. Some young people feel these changes very intensely, especially alongside school pressure, exams, friendships, family stress, identity questions, sleep difficulties or anxiety.
At Beth Weightman Acupuncture, I offer gentle, traditional Five Element acupuncture from a peaceful clinic in North Wootton, near Wells, Somerset. I have a special interest in supporting teenagers who are facing emotional challenges, stress, anxiety, sleep difficulties and periods of change.
Book a free 15-minute consultation to talk through what is happening and whether acupuncture may be suitable.
Acupuncture can offer teenagers a calm, steady and supportive space where they can feel listened to without pressure. For young people who are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, tired, unsettled or unable to switch off, treatment may help them reconnect with their body and begin to feel more grounded.
Five Element acupuncture looks at the young person as a whole. Rather than focusing only on one symptom, treatment considers emotional wellbeing, sleep, energy, physical health, hormones, stress and what is happening in their wider life.
Appointments are gentle, respectful and paced carefully. The aim is to create a safe and supportive environment where each young person can feel more settled, understood and supported as an individual.
Treatment is always adapted to the teenager’s needs and comfort level, and questions or concerns can be talked through before booking.
Acupuncture may be considered when a teenager is experiencing:
Anxiety or worry
Exam stress
Emotional overwhelm
Low mood
Poor sleep
Tiredness or low energy
Tension in the body
Digestive changes linked with stress
Hormonal changes
Difficulty switching off
Feeling unsettled or under pressure
Stress linked with school, friendships or family life
Periods of change or uncertainty
A sense of not feeling like themselves
The first appointment gives us time to understand what is happening for the young person, including sleep, energy, stress levels, health history and emotional wellbeing. Treatment is then shaped around their individual needs and pace.
If your teenager is struggling with stress, anxiety, poor sleep or emotional challenges, you are welcome to get in touch. We can talk through what has been happening and explore whether acupuncture may be suitable.
