Investing in your health and wellbeing is one of the best decisions you can make. Below you’ll find details of my treatment fees. I aim to keep acupuncture accessible while providing high-quality, personalised care in a peaceful countryside setting. As a BAcC-registered practitioner, many of my patients are able to reclaim treatment costs through their private health insurance—just check with your provider to confirm your cover.
Initial consultation and treatment: £65 (1.5 - 2 hours)
Follow-up treatment: £45 (1 hour)
-------
Discount for bookings of 5 sessions: £40
Please note, cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a charge of up to the full treatment cost. I kindly ask that you inform me of any cancellations or rescheduling as soon as possible to allow other patients to book.
Your initial session lasts up to 2 hours and begins with a detailed personal and medical consultation. We’ll talk through your health history, lifestyle, sleep, digestion, energy levels, and any current symptoms or concerns you’d like to address — all in complete confidence.
After the consultation, I’ll carry out a few simple, non-invasive diagnostic checks such as taking your pulse, blood pressure, and assessing temperature distribution. In most cases (unless your condition is particularly complex), we’ll also begin your first acupuncture treatment during this session.
Follow-up appointments last up to an hour and include a review of your progress and treatment plan.
People often ask if acupuncture is painful. In reality, the sensation is usually very mild. The needles are extremely fine – about the width of two human hairs – and most people feel only a tiny prick or a slight tingling when they’re inserted. Occasionally, you may notice a dull ache or tingling sensation, but this usually fades within seconds.
Most patients find acupuncture deeply relaxing, and many feel calm or even sleepy during and after the session. If possible, try to allow for a quiet and restful day following your first treatment to make the most of its benefits.
Yes – acupuncture is one of the safest forms of healthcare in the UK. Research published in 2001 showed that serious side effects are extremely rare — occurring in fewer than 1 in 10,000 treatments. Minor side effects like light bruising or temporary dizziness are uncommon and usually resolve on their own.
For more information on acupuncture safety and clinical evidence, visit the British Acupuncture Council’s website.
You don’t need to wear anything special – just something comfortable that you can easily roll up or move around in. Acupuncture points are often located on the lower arms and legs, so loose-fitting sleeves and trouser legs are ideal. In some cases, I may need to access your back, abdomen, or shoulders, so you might be asked to remove or adjust clothing accordingly – but you’ll always be kept warm and properly covered with towels or blankets. Your comfort and privacy are a top priority at all times.
Every person is different, so the number of sessions depends on your individual needs, health history, and how your body responds to treatment. Some people feel noticeable benefits after just one or two sessions, while others may need a short course of regular treatments to see longer-lasting results. As a general guide, I often recommend starting with a block of five weekly treatments, especially for ongoing or chronic conditions. We’ll regularly review your progress together and adjust the treatment plan to suit you.
Yes, acupuncture can safely be used alongside most conventional medical treatments, including medication and other therapies. In fact, many people come to acupuncture to complement ongoing care for both physical and emotional health issues. If you're receiving treatment from your GP or a specialist, it’s helpful to let them know you’re having acupuncture – and I’m happy to liaise with other health professionals if needed.
Absolutely. Acupuncture takes a holistic view of health, which means emotional wellbeing is just as important as physical symptoms. Many people come for support with anxiety, stress, low mood, grief, or overwhelm. Treatments aim to gently rebalance your system, helping you feel calmer, more grounded, and more like yourself again.
Yes – acupuncture is considered a safe and supportive therapy during all stages of pregnancy when provided by a qualified practitioner. I regularly work with clients through fertility journeys, pregnancy-related symptoms (like nausea, fatigue, and back pain), and preparation for labour. If you’re pregnant or trying to conceive, just let me know and we can tailor your treatment accordingly.
Yes, but you’ll be made comfortable and supported throughout. Once the needles are in place, most people lie still and relax for around 20–30 minutes. It’s a peaceful time to rest, listen to music, or even doze off. If you ever feel uncomfortable or need to move, you’re always welcome to speak up — your comfort comes first.
Yes, acupuncture can be very helpful for children and teens, especially for issues like anxiety, headaches, digestive problems, sleep disturbances, and hormonal changes. I adapt treatments to suit each age group, and parents or carers are always welcome to stay in the room during sessions.
If there’s anything you’re unsure about or you'd like to chat through whether acupuncture is right for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’m always happy to answer questions. You don’t need to know all the answers before you start — that’s what I’m here for. 😊
